David Gold on Talksport
|
Live interview just now.
- "We will spend more this transfer window than ever before" - "We have never taken from the club, we have only put money in. All we have taken is some interest from loans." - "West Ham Football Club would be in a far worse position had myself and David Sullivan had not loaned them money" - "Stadium is not perfect, but is still fantastic and is our future"
Blah blah blah. Let's hold him to the first one.

Pellegrini himself said he will identify potential players and leave it to the chairman to get them so we're in for the same fun and games as Poundland Napoleon bids silly money for top players and makes more lifelong friends of rival chairmen.

Very enthusiastic about the new manager but why can't they just shut the fuck up? Mouth off at the end of the season when we have achieved something with this massive investment not at the start of the journey. As for loans and interest. Give me a break. Ashley is a cunt but he has put money in without apparent interest, looking for a best deal on a sale. These cunts will take both.

Btw... Correct about Declan Rice potentially being a good England Center back... Born in London I only played a friendly for Ireland so could commit his future to an England International should he so decide

I fully expect Pellegrini to be our coach when a transfer comes off, and our manager when one tanks.

claret
and yet when terry brown said we didn't have to sell any of our players upon relegation, to stop other clubs thinking there was going to be a fire sale and putting in very low bids, he got absolutely cunted for it ;-)
for what it's worth, i highly doubt anything goldo says will impact anything.

If they don't spend a lot of money now , we're going to be pissed off, does he never ever learn. Gold has also told every club we are going to try and do business with we have a lot of money to spend meaning we might be held to ransom. David just shut the fuck up and learn from your mistakes.

Yeah, the Pellegrini appointment is good, and the owners are rightly being praised for that in itself, but they have to go a long way, continued stepping in the right direction, before they can break even in the rights vs wrongs accounting. They are still well and truly in the red.
They need to pay what it takes to keep our better players happy, and pay what it takes to keep the manager happy with new signings, and do what it takes to keep their mouths shut in the manager undermining stakes. That's just for starters.

Re: David Gold on Talksport

My point wasn't comparing the two managers, more that they crowed about spending big on a manager before but never really backed him.
Taking increased wages into account we're probably not far off reletively speaking.
So, if they spend on a manger but not on players we'll be no better off really in terms of progression.
Hopefully they've learnt their lesson and spend more than the £25-£30m we have been recently - until last year's £7m.

Re: David Gold on Talksport

The thing that concerns me is the 'probably' part about spending more money than ever be.
They HAVE to spend more money or:
a) Pelligrini will leave, and rightly so
b) They'll need their own 24/7 protection as some of our fans would literally try to beat them to a pulp
It's in their hands. Let's see what they do this summer...

So they bring in a top draw manager and still get slagged off....c'mon let's see what the transfer window brings in.

The scummy tom peppers will just carry on with all the old flannel and just pass the buck when something they've promised don't come off. And even though the Big Bird appointment is decent, if they dont give him proper wedge to spend, it will take a turn for the worse over there again. They're still skating on thin ice. Horrible cunts.
